Questo laboratorio introduce al mondo della programmazione e dell’elettronica grazie a micro:bit, una scheda elettronica creata dalla BBC e a Strawbees, kit che ha lo scopo di insegnare a ragionare sul mondo e sulle scienze in modo divertente e coinvolgente promuovendo la capacità di mediazione e collaborazione. I partecipanti potranno far interagire il mondo digitale con l’ambiente fisico circostante grazie a schede elettroniche programmate con i software Microsoft MakeCode e Strawbees Code. I ragazzi e le ragazze avranno l’opportunità di ideare e realizzare per la prima volta soluzioni creative e invenzioni elettroniche sul modello delle attività di supporto alle missioni condotte dalla Base Logistica delle Nazioni Unite di Brindisi. L’obiettivo è consapevolizzare e sviluppare le capacità digitali e tecnologiche per risolvere problemi e gestire imprevisti legati alle missioni di pace.
Durante la settimana è prevista una visita alla Base Logistica delle Nazioni Unite di Brindisi.
This course introduces participants to coding and electronics thanks to micro:bit, an electronic board created by the BBC, and Strawbees, a kit that aims at teaching people to think about the planet and about science in a fun, engaging way while boosting interpersonal skills and teamwork. Participants will intertwine digital elements with physical surroundings thanks to electronic boards coded with Microsoft MakeCode and Strawbees Code. For the first time ever, participants will have the chance to devise creative solutions and electronic inventions drawing inspiration from support missions conducted by the United Nations Logistics Base in Brindisi, Italy. The goal is to raise awareness and foster digital and technological skills to solve bigger issues and to manage disruptions that might occur during peace missions.
During this week, you will take part in a day trip to the UNLB in Brindisi.

Maker culture
The Maker Movement is a cultural phenomenon characterized by a social and collaborative dimension based on the DIY approach. The Maker Community involves all the digital makers that share ideas all together, experiment new solutions and prototype innovative objects with the use of 3D printer and open source software.

Activities will take place in a laboratory investigating urban innovation located at the heart of the historic city center of Brindisi. This place is perfect for all those who want to set up new socioeconomic initiatives and enhance projects on local development. The laboratory hosts a FabLab where it is possible to prototype and develop many innovative solutions.
